The Full 3 Phases
- Phase 1, or Dr. Now’s 3-Day Juice Fast, is a three-day reboot that starts your system anew and jumpstarts weight loss.
- In Phase 2 (which lasts two weeks), we focus on finding your ideal daily caloric intake with traditional foods like lean proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and beans. For an extra boost of energy, you can add certain supplements to your diet—like fish oil, flaxseed oil and green tea extract—but they are optional. You also have a cheat day each week where you can eat whatever you want as long as it fits into your caloric allotment for that day. Finally,
- Phase 3 is all about maintaining your new healthy habits and keeping off excess pounds for good!
Phase 1 - Detox Diet
Dieters enter phase one after a seven-day fast, which is used to detoxify your body and help you shed water weight quickly. In addition to a 10 day juice fast, Dr. Nowzaradan recommends that dieters drink between four to six glasses of purified water each day and take herbal supplements during phase 1 of his diet plan. A multivitamin, berry blend and laxative tea are some of Drs suggestions for herbal supplements during your first week on his diet plan.
Phase 2 - Lifestyle & Exercise Changes
During phase 2 of your program, you’ll begin exercising and making lifestyle changes to ensure long-term weight loss and maintenance. In addition to continuing to stay away from refined carbohydrates and sugars, you can also add exercise (even just a 15-minute walk daily) and gradually reduce your caloric intake.
Phase 3 - Permanent Changes
In Phase 3, you’ll go back to solid foods and add permanent changes to your diet to keep weight off for good and improve your health. If you’ve followed our plan as directed, you may have lost 10-15 pounds or more! This is a realistic long-term weight-loss goal for most people who try Dr. Now’s program; if you have, congratulations!
